Methodist Charity in Truth

bookshelfA post earlier today concerned Pope Benedict’s encyclical, “Caritas in Veritate” (Charity in Truth), which addresses social issues involved in economic development and recovery.  When I checked my mailbox (the real one – out by the road) I found that this month’s issue of The Advocate, the monthly newsletter of the Mississippi Annual Conference had arrived and that the Bishop’s Bookshelf recommended three books that dealt with similar themes -  Enough: Discovering Joy through Simplicity and Generosity, by Adam Hamilton; The Balancing Act by Robert Schnase; and Upside Living in a Downside Economy by Michael Slaughter.

I’m sure one of our class members will want to volunteer to read and review one or more of these timely works for the class.
